After the dust had settled following Ruth Kelly's announcement that Home Condition Reports would no longer be mandatory, merely authorised in HIPs from June 2007, Rapidmove and other Early Adopters are now gearing up for voluntary take up of Home Information Packs with HCR's.
There is to be an Area Trial commenced by AHIPPS in November, and Rapidmove and other organisations not currently part of AHIPPS will be undertaking their continued promotion of full packs where possible to provide information and benefit to sellers, agents and legal practices alike. We will shortly be offering reduced priced packs to include HCR's to a number of sellers or their agents on a first come, first served basis and hope that their experiences will provide valuable information.
Only qualified Home Inspectors will be able to carry out Energy Performance Reports and HCR's and the government and industry need to be sure that not only are there sufficient professionals to cope with demand but that the quality and effectiveness of HCR's is fully tested during that time.
In January and March 2007 analysis of the trials of HCR's will be examined by the DCLG and numbers of Inspectors will be revisited to ensure that target numbers are available for delivery
We are also pleased to be able to report that a number of our Seller's who have used HIP's on a trial basis to progress their sales have been happy with the product, service and ease of delivery and some have appeared in national media campaigns and provided feedback to the government about their experiences.
As we have always been keen to point out, we want real feedback from those of you who are willing to trial a pack and give genuine feedback and not that based upon any pre-conceptions of the scheme.
We also believe that proper testing of HCR's are crucial to assess the style, speed of delivery and content and to enable us and other Early Adopters to moniter and amend any practices which fall short of our required standard and delivery targets.
